How could this happen?

I bought this Endura a while back. The centering isn't exactly perfect, and the ricasso rubs the liner, slowing the action. It gets carried and used. It has yet to be sharpened. It was my first and only Spyderco for some time. Despite the flaw, I guess I liked it enough to try the brand some more.
