I thought I had gotten the whole knife thing out of my system a few years back after having spent my kids' college funds on custom and high end production knives. I sold off everything but a few users and left the knife world behind. It was such a nice feeling to actually have disposable income again.
Last week I sold a Springfield Pro 1911 to a very good guy who goes by motorhed66 around these parts. When he sent me the money order for the pistol he included a Busse Game Warden as a gift. I was really blown away by the gesture.
The knife came with a note that basically told me that the GW was meant to be used and he expected as much. Since it need to be used I needed a sheath. I contacted Kenny Rowe who has done sheaths for me in the past and order a sheath. While looking into sheath options I came across the ASH-1. Well I figured that since I didn't have a larger knife in the safe these days I would order an ASH-1 LE. Again, i contacted Rowe and ordered a sheath for the ASH-1. Then smehow I found my way to the company store and decided I really NEED a really large Busse to join my little family so I picked up a BM LE with a sheath. All of this happened in the last 7 days.
Today I find myself back here at BF searching the for sale forums trying to decide how much of the $1800 of fun money I have left I want to spend on knives. It is a good thing my kids are still young because at the rate I'm going they better hope like hell they can get a scholarship
In all seriousness I want to give a big public thanks to motorhed66 for a very cool and totally unexpected gift. He is definitely a class act.
