How did the states in wich switch blades are legal for the normal citizen manage it? Was it a grass roots campaign? Anyone know/

Where they ever illegal in those states to begin with? Legislativeattempts at reversing bans on switchblades and balisongs are not popular with politicians or the genpop due to the appearance of being "soft on crime." Not that it really has anything to do with it, of course.

In most states in which they are legal, they were never made illegal. If memory serves, in Oregon it was done through a court case.
