How did this happen?

I just wondered how did this happen:
I think paying near MSRP from Spyderco Dragonfly G10 would be risky, so I was checking out the Dragonfly FRN would be cheaper buy that first and test its ergo's... Then I bumped into Delica 4 FFG and did math, I could afford knife and shipping but it would probably need to be tolled and that would be huge work issue and delays and needs too much traveling and playing with papers...

For somehow my Spyderco Dragonfly FRN mysteriously changed into Spyderco Urban Foliage Green FFG leaf shaped blade ... And the funny thing is: Its even more expensive than Dragonfly G10!

How on earth this happened? *scratches head*

Caly 3 is my all time favourite one hand opening EDC... So Urban was perhaps basicly safe choice as I like finger choil knives, low riding and FFG... All that my current Delica 4 lacks but my Caly 3 has... Just sometimes both knives feel too big. I just realized this is my most expensive knife to the date, due I pay near MSRP price from Urban... Well, I can comfort myself I bought a quality knife and my most expensive knife will be even more expensive Busse.

I just wondered how this happened... I wonder if any of you guys have went to buy cheaper knife and ended up buying (alot) more expensive instead?
 
I went to buy a memory card once and came back with guitar hero, does that count? I cant remmember a specific time I have bought a knife much more expensive than I had planned, but I sure know I rarely buy the knife I had planned to get :P. I get sidetracked alot when knife shopping.

I first wanted a PE Tenacious but it was out of stock. Then I inquired about an Endura and all they had was a waved one. Then I asked about a military and all they had was an all black. I ended up getting that. Didn't regret it though and now I have all three with more to come.
 
Lol, just a side note, place that I ordered Urba Slipit, also can have Delica 4 FFG... Dang.. I just made order for around 200€'s (Ah, that lovely VAT 22% + S&H) worth of Spyderco's... Delica 4 FFG green FRN and Spyderco Urban Slipit

I barely can afford them on my budget but I know I'll regret if I won't aquire them. FFG delica's are sprint run's so they won't last long and Urban may not be a sprint run but is certainly is more rare spyderco's.
 
The one I like is when you get a good discount that you didn't expect, happened to me with a new backpack yesterday. I went in originally last week to pick up a cheaper pack but it didn't fit me right and was sold on one the was close to $100 more so I decided to take a week to think it over. Went in yesterday to buy the more expensive one brought it up to the cash and it ended up costing less then the cheaper one after taxes:eek:.
The owner gave me a deal because the bike shop I work at co sponsors an adventure race with them so they give us employee cost. I didn't know about and it was a nice surprise.
Haven't had that happen with a knife though:(

Your subconscious always wanted what you now have. You just weren't ready to face yourself. :D
 
Well just the other day (Tue.) I went into a little gun,fishing an bait shop to get a dozen minnows to spend the last couple hours of daylight fishing, an walked out with a benchmade 710 :eek: that I really didn't have the money for :D .
 
definitely didn't mean to but purchased a lone wolf blackfoot. Was just looking at wood handled knives. My problem is alway I don't mean to buy ANY knife but then I buy a couple hundred dollars worth before I even realize... (the blackfoot is an awesome knife btw)
 
I went to buy a plain ole Military yesterday, then it ended up being the Titanium Military w/ Reeve Integra Lock. Hmmm, wife will not be happy, especially since last week I bought an Emerson and last month I bought a Sig P220....
 
Happens every time I go to the knife store. I always have a certain model in mind, and end up buying something much more expensive.

When I buy online I usually buy what I'm after with no increase.
