How difficult would it be to build a Rat 1 Spring Assist with Flipper Opening?

My question is, How difficult would it be for Ontario Knife Company to build a Rat 1 with spring assisted opening and a flipper tab and either keep or remove the thumb studs? I own a Rat 1 manual and loosened the axis screw so it's easy to flick open with either hand. I'd like to purchase a Rat 1 with spring assist, but if it isn't that much different than the manual, it would be redundant.

So how difficult would it be to modify the shape of the blade to make it a spring assist flipper? Would it be a wise choice for Ontario to build such a knife? How much would it cost Ontario to make such changes? Would Ontario keep or remove the thumb studs? Would you buy one or more if they were available?

I don't have any experience in the cost of manufacturing of items on a large scale, but I would think that coat would be dependant on the size of the run.
In regards to assist/deassist, you seem to see more people preferring to deassist a factory assisted knife. That being said, if they were to make one, I think you would see that tend continue.

That problem could be solved by building a manual flipper and a spring assisted flipper. Then the people who like to remove assisted opening springs, would not have to remove any springs.

both the rat-1 knives that I had flipped open with astonishing authority for a knife that had no assist.

The biggest problem that Ontario will face is whether demand exists.

I wonder if Ontario would use a forum like this to ask their question if members would buy them? Or if they would do their research somewhere else? Or if they would just go ahead and build them based on speculation that they would sell?

Here's a nutty thought. Ontario has a subforum here, Again, you probably didn't notice it (read more, post less). It is moderated by a representative from their company.

Why don't you go there and ask?

The question is about a Flipper Opening rather than a thumb stud opening. Would you buy a Rat 1 with a Flipper Opening?

No. The question you asked is: "How difficult would it be to build a Rat 1 Spring Assist with Flipper Opening?"

Apparently you might to read your own opening posts more, and post less.

What? When I get a manual flipper, I don't think about it and say "Darn, I wish this had a spring so I could take it out." ;)
