I spotted this BK2 on Ebay and I absolutely love the finish on the knife. I have been wanting to strip and refinsh my BK2 for a while, and would really like to have a finished product that looks like this one:

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

TIA

fairly certain it's just a patina. Cut up a bunch of oranges to get a nice patina.

Just lay the oranges on the blade? How long?

I've put patinas on a few of my Moras using mustard and vinegar, but most of them come out a dull even gray. I really like the pattern of the patina in that blade.

Really you can just draw your desired pattern with any acidic food and wait a half hour. Clean and repeat.

I soaked two paper towels in vinegar then lightly twisted them into a loose rope.
Wrapped them around the blade in a spiral fashion and let it sit for about 30 min.
Then unwrapped them and did a spiral in the opposite direction for another 30.
While that was sitting I stippled some vinegar around the handle and tang.
Gave it a good scrubbing with dish soap then rinse.
Both knives done the same way.

I have seen posts on the forums where members have used mustard. You can draw the pattern you want.

I've tried the mustard thing on one of my Moras, but it didn't come out looking like I wanted.

FTR-14c,

That looks great. I'll give that a try.
