How do dealers and knifemakers keep their knives rust free and clean?
I'm just wondering if there is some sort of unwritten standard among these folks, what do they use to keep their knives clean, and rust free. Thanks.

Ren Wax.

It used to be that knifemakers and dealers rarely let people handle knives at shows. Today, they encourage it. Why the change? Ren Wax.

They frequently wipe them down with a good metal protectant like Breakfree CLP, WD-40, etc. etc. They store them lubed in a cool dry place.

climate control (dehumidifier)

Also, by using renaissance wax, tuf-glide, etc. when shipping, etc.
