How do I attach BK11 sheath upside down on pack strap?

Anyone else lament how scarce good balin' wire has gotten? Nobody uses it anymore... "Aint nuttin that can't be fixed with duct-tape n balin wire"

I still have a spool of the good stuff (bailing wire) from when my family had a farm (sold in the 80's).

Pastormarty: you can also use shock cord with a cord lock. The cord lock will work with 550 cord as well.

Actually it's If it moves and it shouldn't - use duct tape, it doesn't move and should - use WD40.
On another note, what the hell is "balin' wire" ?

Look in the "Simple BK11 retention mod" thread at the pic in post 1. Mine is hanging upside down on the shoulder strap by clipping it to a cross strap with the TDI clip. If yours doesn't have a strap on that spot, of course it doesn't matter.

New Yawk Citay!!!???

LOL

what used to hold haybales together before hay twine became popular...even hay twine is gettin scarcer since most folks use large round bales now.

I think it's that stuff that whales have instead of teeth. Back in the whalin days, folks would use every part of the whale and would take take the whale's "balin' " out to make hula hoops and knickerbockers.

Slightly more on topic: I get a lot of things well secured with some of those velcro bands with an integral buckle loop. I think someone else posted earlier a good method to secure a BK11 from accidentally leaving it's housing with a short 550 cord that's been knotted at one end and hooked into the bottle opener. Might help for an upside down carry...?

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem
