how do i bend the overly tight clip on my gerber air harsey?

i just got a Gerber Harsey Air Ranger with a serrated blade. It is a great knife but the clip is just so tight. i can barely manage to get it onto my belt. and if i can get it onto my belt, i can never get it off. i have too almost rip it off. i want to know how to bend it properly without damaging the knife. any suggestions?
