Just got my 0801 and I want to blue the titanium I have seen some pictures of folks that have done it. I have don't it on exhaust systems for my motorcycle but I'm not sure if just throwing it in the oven without disassembling will affect the "KVT" or any of the fittings.

Please help

I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in soon. I don't think your oven will get hot enough to heat it to a blue color. I think ti needs about 600° to start turning color and blue isn't the first color it will turn. Also not sure how that much heat will play with the ti integrity. Anodizing can also be done with electricity. You can search the web for all the info on the ranges needed for the color you want.

The knife handles need to be anodized. You should send it to someone who knows what they're doing. They're are a few guys on the forum who do great work. Or look up Pete Grey Titanium.

Well nevermind, I'm going to return the knife. It was purchased in the exchange here as NIB and I have no reason to think otherwise but the nut that holds the KVT system in place will not stay tightened and the blade has some side to side play when opened and doesn't center up when closed. I tightened the nut thinking that would fix it but after flipping it for a while to loosen the action some the nut came loose again and there is play in the blade again.

That is not really a defect. Pivot screws comes loose all the time. All you need is a dab of some thread lock adhesive. Just go for a low strength one and you should be just fine. A wee bit of lateral play won't hurt a knife, it is just a little annoying. Vertical play is a real issue though.

Pivot screw needs loctite or vibratite
