how do I convert a saw blade into a useable bow saw?

I found a rusty (but unused) Gerber pack saw wood blade.

The blade itself would fit nicely in my kit, what's a good way to convert this into a workable bow saw (or other saw?) in the bush?

thanks in advance

It is a fun project to do, but you may want to weigh the time in the woods with how much you need it. For instance, I would not go out with just the blade and make one for a one day trip.

Doc-Canada made a fantastic post a while back about them:

aaannnd I can't find it. Doc can you post it?

I've got a pretty nice folding saw (Gerber) that I take normally (and always in the "winter"), but I'm building a smaller/lighter kit that is very strapped for room- this blade would slide into a spot that I originally thought would go unused.

The likelihood of using it would be on the low end, but could come in handy if doable :)

thanks, nice looking saw, but I'm thinking something easier yet - couple of rings perhaps, bent green branch?

I think Ray Mears does one too, in one of his European adventures. Check Youtube, I remember watching it only recently. I want to say it was a Slavic region.

EDIT: I found it for you. The portion you're interested in starts at the five minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-fxF-1j9qM

Thanks for the compliment, Joe, except it wasn't me. :D
