How do I darken bone?

OK - so don't laugh - I got it cheap! I've got coming to me one brand new Buck Canoe with "Hot Pink Bubba Gum" bone scales - yecccch, I'm thinking - but, remember I did get it cheap.

Anyway, I'm figuring this thing is going to look pretty terrible - bright, hot PINK bone!!! What can I do, if anything, to speed up and help the darkening process that takes place on bone scales?

Believe me, ANY suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Why would pink bother you? It's just a color.
Potassium permanganate is used to darken bone. Leather dye sometimes works.
