I tried to send a message to another member and it said I couldn't due to my mailbox being full. For about 1/2 hour I tried to figure out how to empty my mailbox of conversations but couldn't see any way to do so. Can someone help please?

I only view the forum through my iPhone, there is a box that prompts you to "leave conversations" which will delete them and free up space.

Check the box next to the messages you want to delete, then click "leave conversation" in the pop-up window.

Thanks all for your help. It worked perfectly. I thought I had tried that but I guess not!

I use a window 7 computer. No pop up window comes up.

Crazy this new system. Couldn't be anymore unfriendly.

Since when did Inbox and Outbox become Conversations and "Leave Conversation"

Just crazy!

The Leave conversation thing is pure stupidity what's wrong with delete so that everyone can understand

Take it up with the Xenforo software developers, if you don't like the nomenclature. It's part of the Xenforo software. And it's been "conversations" since the software change last March.

There are advantages for users to setting up "conversations" instead of just having "PMs".
1) you can have many posts in a conversation and it still only counts as one item. It effectively increases the size of your inbox.
2) both sides of the conversation remain in one spot. You don't have to quote the other person in order for him to see what comments you are responding to, like we did under the BBS software. Under the old BBS software, if you had to nest more than about two quotes, the oldest quote was a skinny little thing that was hard to read.

Personally, I find conversations much easier to deal with than the BBS PM system.

Thanks for the clarification and I understand your doing what works and that it's tied to the software. And it is just the nomenclature that I struggle with. This is still one of those situations where there is a generally used convention and someone decides to ignore it. It would be like my municipality deciding to use round purple halt signs it would still get the job done but why defy convention (not the creators of this site but Xenforo). Also your right the extra space and efficiency is nice.
