my cqc-8 had a bad problem with binding, but opening and closing it alot fixed it. My new kirby lambert knife is not going the same way. i/v been at it for 3 days about 3 hours of opening and closing. it is still so hard to close i need to use a spoon to depress the lock.

Can anyone help?

thank you

Don't use the spoon, put the knife edge down on a cutting board or other like surface apply pressure to the top of the knife then release the lock. Using a pencil on the lock face will help with the sticking problem and works on most Ti locks but for some reason with my emersons it always made them fail.

Normally, I'm all for a more difficult to disengage liner or frame lock, but...

Try the old pencil trick - rub pencil lead on the blade interface area and lock bare interface area. This can help for a time.

Also, I assume you have tried simple lubricant.

It sound like it is wearing such that more contact surface is being created as it wears in. That is good. Is that the case?

oil and grease make it worse or do nothing. the pencil works but only for a little bit, and the locking area gets very dirty. i'll try breakin it in with the lead pencil.

thanks for all the feedback
