Caught this from the bay and should not have since there was not a photo showing the blade centering. Return is not possible so I am looking at ways to fix the issue. The blade hits the liner near the end when closed. Thanks

looks like blade is bent..but could be illusion....

David Martin used heat the blade far below the changing heat treat and use a hammer to change the bend....but unless ya know what you're doing it could turn all bad.

bolster seems very thin..who made that one? can they do repair on it if the blade isn't bent?

My suggestion is dependent on whether the handle is factory or aftermarket. It is not obvious to me what model you show.
If factory I would send a photo and query to the moderator, Hubbard. Recollection is Buck will not take responsibility for disassembling an aftermarket handle so if aftermarket, contact the maker or try one of the well known knife manglers.

Not related to the question but would love to see pictures of the entire knife. Buffalo horn?

It looks like maybe a 317 with buffalo horn inlays. The brass liner with nickel/silver bolsters wasn't used in very many models. Fixing the brass lined slip joint are difficult because at that age the liner can break and leave the knife unrepairable and in pieces. If you would like to send it in we can take a look.

What model is it? Is it just off center, or is the blade or frame bent?
Off center as best as I can tell

It is a 317 that was blade deleted. Scales look like horn. I will take photos tomorrow of full knife

Thanks. Seller agreed to a return since it is in this condition. Will be sending it back Friday.
Figured this was the best route even though a single blade 317 is a knife I really want and Buck will not take mine and do the delete

I think it is natural with the 317s as far as the blade touching the frame (frame looks a little off on the OP 317 though, might be the angle). All the custom 317s I have at least one of the blades touch the frame.

That's a nice looking bunch of 317's! And the original poster's Black Buffalo horn is too..I don't think I would have sent it back.

I did not want to put any more money into and it would not close without hitting the liner or to miss the liner the blade had to be pushed over.
For what I paid, I wanted it right

Can't argue with that.
