Way back in 2000 the police came to my house with a warrent for my nephew. They also came with a search warrent for guns that did not match the ones that me and my relative had. Stupidly we gave them up because we could not find the receipts for them in time. We live in Philadelphia. How do we get them back. We have clean records but I might want to sell my gun to a prison guard nephew before I get it back.

The guns are legal and we did get a receipt from the police.

Guns and other freedoms are usually gone, once they are gone. I would say just go down to the station and ask for them.

I would just go to the Police station. I had a gun taken from me and went down about two months later, signed a piece of paper and was on my way with it.

Follow their advice. If that doesn't work, depending on your guns value, get a lawyer. Unfortunately, when it comes to guns in today's society, you are guily until proven innocent.

I don't live in Philly or PA, but why would you need to provide a receipt for a gun to cops ???? Is your receipt from the gun shop now some kind of required document??

PS, this is over 2 years ago, your guns might have been auctioned off or turned intto a manhole cover by now ("abandoned property")
