Hi I just got my esee 5 and it has a secondary bevel and I prefer a single beveled edge.i want to get rid of the secondary bevel. I understand that I will loose some of the coating on the blade, but I use it as a bush knife. The coating will only helps protecting from rust,I'm no tactical. So yeah any experienced knife makers/ enthusiastist out there? I want to know the proper way and techniques

I thank you in advance

Simple. Sharpen the knife at the angle of the primary bevel until it's the only bevel. You'll need to remove a fair bit of steel, so diamond stones are preferred. You might use the occasion to apply the angle you like the best.

Convex the edge might be the easiest. What kind of grind is it ?

I expect the OP doesn't really want what he's asking for.

The edge spine would be so thin as to make the knife unusable for any hard use cutting chores.

I think a nicely blended convex secondary bevel is what he really wants.
