Hey Guys..

Just snagged two pair of Swedish wool pants... Frigging Awesome...
They are brand new, one even still had the manufacturers tag on them...

Now the question is... What can I do to them short of dry cleaning to get the possible Crotch Cricket eggs out of them ???

I'm not going through that again !!! LMAO

Got a case of them 25 years ago from Mil Surp pants.. Not fun....
Wondering if just a wash in Woolite will take care of it??

Any help would be Great...

i'd dry clean them Normark.... the chemicals will take care of the nasties.

or you could handwash with lice/nit shampoo.....but who knows if that will get them all......

BTW Eric, check your email! question about some sheaths...

Hey Guys....

LOL

They don't have Critters,, however their eggs can keep for a Very long time,, and have had them once from surplus pants,, and don't want to go through that again.. Usually hot water will do the tricks,, but with wool I can't do that...

I guss I'll have to have them dry cleaned Eh....

Porky...

No,, I like the Swedish women !! :)

I believe that if you put the pants in a freezer for two weeks that will kill the eggs.
You can do that with stuffed toys (lice)
I'll see if I can find the handout they gave us when there was a lice outbreak in the kids school a few years ago

The book said 48 hours

hey yeah, never thought of that! go get a garbage can full of DRY ICE pellets and cover the pants until the dry ice evaporates (about 12 hours). Dry ice is SUPER COLD!

I would put them in the freezer for at least a week though, not just 48 hours.
Not sure about dry ice, I don't have enough experience with it

I'm certain your local pharmacy sells a kit that includes a laudry soap that kills them. Dry cleaner is probably easier though and is recommended if hot water wash can't be used.

if you put crotch lizards in there they'll eat the crotch crickets... JK I don't know brother I usually just wash
em and go..."let the devil (and the tiny comb) sort'em out"

Don't they have hairy armpits and leg? Yah?

Hey brother,
Are you gonna lanolize them? I can bring my oil by if you want. What I also do is put a bit of teatree oil in the mix. That'll kill Olga's boxbeetles.

Awesome - Rick's going to bring oil to get rid of Eric's crotch crickets. Sounds like a party :p:p:p

Its best to massage the oil in while you are wearing the pants........ KGD .... do you have strong hands?

Go to the store and get Duranon or any other summer tick spray that contains Permethrin. Soak the area and let them dry. Permethrin is the same active ingredient in the medicated lice shampoos and it will kill nits and eggs. The odor goes away very quickly after it dries.

Correct! Permethrin will do the trick. (don't ask me how I know :o). You can use anything with permethrin including Hartz 2&1 flea and tick shampoo... It works MUCH better than RID and other stuff available at the pharmacy.
