How do I get this discoloration off my blade?

I recently picked up a raw dog finish Scrapyard OMG-15. I bought it knowing it had some discoloration on one side of the blade. I had similar marks on my stonewashed finish and I was able to get them off with just a few minutes of gentle work with 0000 steel wool. Same method on this new one did nothing. I think the stone wash finish naturally hides a little bit, so maybe I didn’t get it all, but it’s not noticeable. I’m going to sell one of them. I like the raw dog (pictured) better, but not if I can’t get these marks off. Advice? IMG_2016.jpeg

super low grit sanding sponge and do both flats.

that's what I would do. ymmv
I’ll try that to get it the rest of the way maybe. I went back and just put more work into the steel wool and a little random polishing compound I found in my shop ( a little brick of it that I think came with my dremel). That got most of it. Then I just put a little mineral oil on the blade and kept rubbing. I think maybe the 2 sides look different now… I think I’ll also have to do the other flat like you said. It looks decent now though. I could probably stop here and be pretty happy with it.
