How do I get writing off my blades...

Hey guys.. over time, I've noticed that I tend to prefer clean looking blades. Is there any easy ways to get company logo's etc off the blade and pocket clip. I would think sanding it down would work, but what if you have a stonewashed finish?

I recently got a ZT 0560 (greattt knife).. but how sexy would it look with nothing except say, the serial number on the blade??

Any input would be greatly appreciated..

If you wanted to keep the same finish it already has, you'd need to stonewash it again with some ceramic media. If not, you could send it out for beadblasting or even rub it with some wet/dry sandpaper from heel to tip for a satin finish.

That said, I wouldn't recommend this as you can never add the logo back just like you can remove metal, but not add it.

Nice to see another guy besides me like a clean sterile blade.
What I have tried and with varying degrees of success are the following:
1) Hand applied paste polish with some abrasive to it and hard rubbing.

2) Fine sanding either by hand with a sanding block or very carefully with a palm sander. Start with maybe 400 or 600 grit and work up to 1500 grit.

3) use a Dremel with a felt, wool, or rubber polishing tip with green compound.

Shoot me a PM or update here. Let me know what you try. If you want I post or send you some pics of a couple things I have done.

This is an example of what I mean. Not perfect but now there is no word saying Kershaw on the blade. No lettering or wording.

Pretty nice man.. don't know if I have the balls to try it myself though. Like I said, I worry about the stonewash looking messed up afterwards, which would suck.

thanks
I have to agree that the stonewash might come off since you have to pretty aggressive I think to be able to get lettering off the blade.

I put a satin finish on a chill blade. It easily removed the model number, logo, etc. Used 600 grit wet/dry paper, no lubricant.
