How do I hang this head?

Hi all. I picked up this old Wedgeway head (thank you agent_H for identifying the logo!) and I went to hang it today and noticed that the steel on the top of the eye protrudes into the eye. This is only my second hang and I'm not sure if I should even bother hanging this one. As agent_h also pointed out, it is fairly used in the bit.

Thick bits that have been sharpened back are often good splitters at least.

It even looks a little bit..in the bit :) like a "spalthammer":
