How do I keep a leather sheath tight?

It seems no matter how tight and how well wet formed I get a leather sheath, 3 months later it is not tight enough for me.I'm talking about pouch type fixed blade sheaths with more than two thirds of the handle covered.

How do you guys solve this problem?

what weight leather are you using, it may simply be too light a heavier leather will take a harder set.
