I don't have the tools to remove the clip and I don't even have sandpaper :(. I currently have a 25¢ piece under the clip hoping that works. Do I have any better options that don't need tools?

Thanks guys
Chris.

That is really my one complaint about the voyager. That pocket clip is ridiculous. I don't really know that it can be fixed without tools. Maybe put two or three quarters between and leave them for awhile? You can buy a torch set for really cheap and that would be your best option.

What I have done with several knives is just to grab the clip and bend it outward.

Now, you have to exercise extreme caution, because its easy to bend it too much. So what I do is just pull it 10x or 20x times, but not enough to actually tweak it. Just to get a feel for it. And then start to pull it multiple times with very slightly more force, but still not bending it. If you are mighty careful, you can bend it just a micron, so that the clip is just barely looser then it originally was. I like for my clips to have the absolutely smallest amount of space between the clip and the scale.

This is dangerous, because its easy to bend it too much. The only solution for that is to remove the clip, bend it back to its original tension, and then start over. But without tools that's a no go. But after you get the hang of it, its not really that difficult. You just have to very, very carefully apply very small, increasing amounts of force to the clip until you achieve the desired tension.

Your best bet is to buy a quality torx driver of the right size, then remove the clip and sand under it. Having the right torx driver makes it much easier to get the clip tension just right as well. You can get a mediocre torx driver set at Home Depot, or a quality driver online. Rock on.

Buy an inexpensive Torx bit (Size 6?)

Remove clip, bend slightly. Repeat until you hit the sweet spot where it doesn't shred your pants put the clip holds the knife firmly in place.

I have done this with all of my CS knives and you can get a multi-size Torx bit tool for less than $10 on Amazon.

Be carefull bending the clip outwards while attached to the knife. If you apply too much force or the tolerances of the screw or threads are a bit off, you could strip the retaining screws. And you will totally ruin the knife. I am not familiar with the construction of the voyager, I want to think that the retaining screws go all the way through the scales down into the liner... if they are screwed in the scale only... well... they will be weaker!

I don't think it is likely, but it could happen. You are better off removing the clip, bending it using some other means of holding it down (say a bench vice, vice grips or two pliers) and putting it back on. If you are into knives, you will end up with a selection of tooling sooner or later... don't sweat it and buy some now!
