I recently got a para 3 and its kinda smooth but definitely not as smooth as my paramilitary 2 which flicks out super easy and drops freely. Aside from just oiling it (which i have done plenty of) what can i do to make it smoother? The screws are also locked from spyderco with red loctite, i would unscrew them to loosten up the pivot if I could.

Use Wiha brand torx bits to avoid damaging the screw sockets, these are used by Spyderco.
Apply heat to the screw head with soldering iron tip into screw torx hole.
Easy to adjust screws with Red Locktite grade 272/273.

I wouldn't touch the screws, now yours may be different, I have a sample size of one, but mine got really smooth after a not that long of just moving the blade around, not really flicking it, just opening and closing. I think just living with it for a while is probably going to do the trick just fine.

Has the Para 3 got the same type of pivot as the PM2? That stepped bushing or whatever the fancy name is .....

I'm not sure that you will easily get a normal pivot as smooth as a clean, well lubricated and properly assembled PM2 or Sebenza 21 pivot. There will be exceptions for sure but generally speaking.

Just keep flicking and flicking. It will smooth out before you know it.
I have 5 Para 2s. Some were free droppers out of the box and others needed some flicking to get there.
I actually prefer a knife like yours, as it will break in nicely and will not need much adjusting.
Play with your knife dude!

Not sth Spyderco recommends nor some folks would agree, but if you are eager to get it significantly smoother, you can take it apart and CAREFULLY polish the washers. This has worked for me on multiple spydies and benchmades. Again, you will need to know what you are doing and how to do it properly.

I've had the para3 for a month or so now, yours sounds like mine. Not a free dropper, didn't flip easily.

It does smooth out but I can honestly say mine is still not a free dropper. But it does flick open and shut now. But the type of lubrication seems to help.

The less I lubricate it, the drier it gets and the faster it flicks. So my advice is to just go easy on the grease.
