Hello I'm new to BladeForums as well as having a knife on my person. I recently bought a BNIB CRK Umnumzaan from a Redditor and I didn't notice any issues from inspecting it over unless I missed it

I started looking at my knife again further yesterday night and noticed the thumb stud is very much over on the flipping side, which from checking out some videos it should be down the middle even.

I hadn't used the knife for cutting a box or tape even. I was practicing flicking the knife open I'm not sure if that is the issue, could anyone let me know if too much flicking could cause this issue or if this is a QA defect, I don't think I overdid it or anything and I'm certainly not strong enough to push the thumb stud.

Are you sure it did not come to you like that? Those thumb studs are pressed in. It would likely need to be pressed to center again. The O-rings are part of the lockup. They cushion the impact. At least that’s what I remember reading somewhere. I would say if you have access to an arbor press, you could get it back to center.
And I would not recommend flicking the knife open.

Forgot to mention....I do not think flicking it open did this.

I'm not 100% sure if it came like that, I'm sure it did as there's no way I had the strength to push that out.

Good to know regarding flicking every video I watch I see people flick it open so I thought that was normal..now I know.

No, I flick mine all the time. They are a very tough knife and should handle whatever you throw at it.

Ok good to know, I guess I just got a lemon. Thanks I was worried it was cause of me

Can you slide the stud back and forth? Just out of curiosity. Also I’m with everyone else, flicking doesn’t cause that

No I did try to force it back into the middle and it would not budge whatsoever -- I don't do anything crazy lol so not sure how it was moved in the first place or if thats how it always was and I just never noticed.
