How do I open the hex bolts on the Powerlock?

I bought the V-Cutter for my Powerlock S61 but I can't open the damn hex bolt to install it. I'm using my 1/4" driver which fits and turns the bolt perfectly but it's not opening the bolt. I keep turning it counterclockwise for what seems like half an hour but it's not opening the bolt. In fact the bolt is turning on both ends of the handle instead of opening... it looks to me like the bolt can't be opened at all. All it did was loosen up the tools in the handle.

Am I doing something wrong here? :confused:
 
You will need two 1/4" wrenches, one for each side. The bolts are a male/female type connection. I'll get pictures for you later today.

Ok thanks. However since the V-Cutter isn't as thick as the scissors it rattles inside the handle. Is there any way to fill in the empty space?
