How do I...remove gunk/glue?/epoxy? from my blade?

So I just this morning got the new CRKT Obake! And I like it so far, but only time will tell how much I like it. So far, what I don't like is that a portion of the blade came with some kind of clear, hard, gunk or glue or epoxy on it. I think it may be something that they used to seal the para-cord handle. I need a suggestion for some way to remove this gunk without removing the ti nitride finish on the blade.

If I do remove the finish ill probably just take it all off and then force a patina, but I'd rather keep the knife looking the way it is, at least for a bit.

Any suggestions?

Acetone. Do it outside and try not to breathe the fumes. Also wear rubber/Latex gloves because the acetone is absorbed through your skin. Nasty stuff!

Hey! Thanks for the advice! That's what I was gonna try, I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't take the ti nitride off of there, do you think it will hold up to the acetone?

So at first I thought the acetone wasn't working; it didn't come off just rubbing that area with acetone. However, after using the acetone for a bit I took a fine razor to the spot and peeled it up really nice... Now it looks just like there was nothing there.

What I find also works pretty well if you don't want to work with acetone next time is alcohol swabs, I use those quite frequently for cleaning up knife blades and such.
