How do I seal sheep horn?

I bought a very nice custom with barky domestic sheep horn.When I washed some blood off the handle some of the barky spots puffed out and softened up.I didn't soak the handle ,just ran water over it and dried.

It's not too big a deal but some of the barky spots flaked a little deeper.I would like to know the best way to seal this beautiful knife as I intend to use it.

Deep spots can be stabilized with super glue.

I'd just put a coat of paste wax on it and call it good. Don't forget to have a moth ball close to it.

I used super glue to fill the small holes.
Then I buff down from green crome to pink compound.
