Replace the removable/disposable blade...[emoji6]

they can be sharpened like any other blade...on a benchstone<s>, just steeper angles...

and those extra small disposable blades are extra hard to get ahold of correctly...

is it time-efficient to do so?...no, but it can be done-- I've done it.

Remove the screws you see in the pic....and take it out. Either sharpen it or replace it.

What kind of knife is it, if it's something from a gas station or flea market like it appears to be I'd say just throw the thing away and get a real knife ( the buck 482 or buck bantam are 100x better and only 20$ )

How many seat belts are your cutting, that it needs sharpened?

These are never really very effective, because of the design and because it's hard to get into your pocket when in the seat of a car ( especially in a wreck )
I think you'd really be better off getting a rescue me tool to put on your car keys.
Now if you really want to sharpen this thing, you can take it apart and sharpen it on a whetstone but just be warned that the hardware on cheap knives always strip out easily and once they've been loosened ( assuming the heads didn't strip on you ) you'll need some loctite or it'll fall apart in short order.
Just work it back and forth on the stone, then give the backside a few pulls on a fine stone to remove the burr.

I wanna wake sure its sharp in case i need it

Hi,
these things rarely get dull as they're rarely used to cut anything
I've had an envelope cutter for decades and it still cuts paper,
ie its sharp enough to cut a seat belt

If it is so dull it wont cut paper you could use some sand paper glued to a popsicle stick to sharpen,
but if it cuts paper leave it alone, because thats all the "sharp" you need for seatbelts

Give it a try, take an old sock or tshirt or jeans or some rope or some printer paper or index cards,
if you can cut any of those things its sharp enough ... basically test your equipment before the accident :)

Just curious, how do you carry this pocket knife, does the window breaker poke? poke holes?

If I were inclined to carry one of these things
(seatbelt cutter window punch)
I'd attach it to the car,
to the center console (so every seat can get to it)
or to my seatbelt,
but I don't drive enough around water
so I haven't considered getting one

I keep it clipped to my pocket because its a knife the glass breaker on the bottom pokes holes in wood so i think its safe to say it'll break glass

It doesnt poke holes in any pants and if i were to use force on my skin it could leave a mark
:D i'm not wondering if steel is capable of damaging humans :) i'm wondering if its comfortable , if the pokey part gets in the way while you carry it clipped to your pocket every day

I dug up an old knife using disposable blades a few days ago when I was looking for something to try my "new" translucent Arkansas stone on. The spare blades had an edge looking just like yours, the same kind of coarse grinding marks showing that the manufacturer didn't really care if the blade actually was sharp. Didn't shave arm hair then, gave it a couple of minutes work on the stone and suddenly my arm had a few new bald spots.
If you take the blade out and sharpen it a little on any fine stone you have it will probably improve dramatically. Not sure it'll cut seatbelts very good anyway, but it WILL be sharp.

This.. Have you tried actually using it?

It still looks some what sharp and probably doesn't need replaced. IF it does then it's probably not worth anything.

Thanks you, my thoughts exactly. I have a spyderco serrated H1 attached to my seat belt in my truck and side by side. They go through a seat belt fine and are right there when I need them. Haven't needed one since my old cj jeep when I was a kid.

Seat belt cutter or gut hook. Easy to touch up.
Take a leather bootlace, charge it like a strop, tie one end to a post, and use it to strop inside the hook.
