Since the forum won't let me search I have to ask something that's probably been asked a million times before.

I have a folding alpha hunter and want it to be left handed. I took the 3 screws out and can't get the thing to come apart. Any insight?

Not sure what you mean, the Alpha Hunter can't be made "left handed", the liner lock only goes in one way.

You can't swap this knife (or any other liner lock) to be left handed. The back of the blade has to be ground at a 10 degree angle one way or the other, but on 99% of production knives it is ground for right handed use. Also, the liner is bent to work for a right handed person.

I am left handed, and i can operate most linerlocks just fine (so long as they have dual thumbstuds).

Yea I got it apart and you're right, it can't be swapped. I can use a right handed knife but I would prefer it left handed. I have to switch hands to close it.

Interestingly I sent an email to info@buckknives.com and it got bounced.

"PERM_FAILURE: Gmail tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 5.1.1 User unknown."

I'm a southpaw as well, here is how I handle liner locks made for right handers.

Roll the knife in your hand, so the sharpened edge is up, place the tip of your left index finger on the side of the blade and push the liner lock to the left with your left thumb to disengage it. Push the blade slightly closed with your left index finger, just enough to get it past the liner lock. Then turn the knife so that your left thumb is no longer between the blade and the handle, and push the blade closed with your left index finger.

Simple easy one hand closing of a liner lock for southpaws! :D
