How do I tell My AD-10 Grind type

I bought an AD-10 from a swap. So, I don't know how old it is. I have been learning the older models have hollow grind, which is preferred. How do I tell which grind my AD-10 has? I have tried to google AD-10 pictures to compare. They all look the same for me. What do I look for to tell my AD-10 is hollow, saber, or flat grind? Are there any photos of grind comparison? I am now obsessed with it. Please help!

You can usually tell by looking down the length of the blade. Pay close attention to the plunge grind; a hollow-ground blade will have a gently curved bevel that shows up nicely in that spot.

Sometimes I can tell by pinching the blade between my thumb and forefinger, starting at the top of the primary bevel, and just running them down to the edge. Depends on the knife.

You can also lay something straight perpendicular to the blade. If your straight thingie sits flush against the primary bevel, it's not hollow ground.

Hope that helps! :)

You'll be able to tell when it's in your hands. The hollow grind is very pronounced. The flat grind will be flat. Either will be good, but I'm glad my ad10 is hollow!

Thank you very much for your reply.
When I ran my fingers vertically thru the blade, I could definitely feel a curve, which my Ultimate Hunter does not have. So, it's definitely not flat grind. But could it be sabre grind? Does Cold Steel make AD-10s with sabre grind? Any differences between sabre and hollow grinds?

The AD-10 is saber ground no matter whether it's flat or hollow. Saber just means the grind doesn't go all the way to the spine.

The flat grind going to be a stouter blade grind anyway so I'd just go with what you have. If it doesn't cut the way you want grind away and thin it down.

Flat ground will be stronger, hollow a bit slicier, either is great. I would personally prefer the flat ground AD10, but mine is hollow.
