Hi everyone- I have a few swiss army knives and I can't figure out which models they are. Outside of just comparing them to the websites out there is there a better or quicker way to tell?

I like Bladeforums. A lot of the guys from the other websites hang out here as well and could answer your questions.

on the inside, at the pivot of the main blade, near the bottom corner of every SAK is a..... j/k! :p

we learn from our personal collections (experience) from doing research and from online comparisons and selectors ;)

You can also post photos on bladeforums and identify them here.
Yes, that is what I meant when I wrote "You could also post pictures of your SAK's here". I was probably not clear enough.
Or, why not simply post a picture of the SAK in this thread, so that the SAK can be identified by memebers?

:D

The difference between SOSAKOnline Tool Finder and Victorinox Tool Selector is that SOSAK includes discontinued models, and Vic. site soed not. So, if the SAK is and old(er) model, SOSAK would work better.

There are other differences. Regardless, tool selectors are not error free. Here's an example where discussion on Bladeforums proved more helpful than an automated system:

see posts #4 through #8.

Posting here also contributes to discussion and I hope that's why we're all here.
