Hi there- been a fan of Buck for many years- at least since the 70's when I remember them getting big. I have been using a Buck Rush 290 as my EDC for about 3 years or so now and recently I acquired a Nighthawk 655BO-B on the bay. Can't wait for it to get here as I have been eying this knife for some time. Plan to make it my hunting/survival/defensive knife, which is a lot to ask of a knife but I think that design is up to the task.

Just to throw this in there but am about to also pick up a 119 for my father as a gift for next opportunity- probably Christmas. He needs one and something tells me he's just been waiting for someone to get him one since it's not the sort of thing he would buy himself. Anyway I got around to handling these great knives again and wow- they are still a work of art.

Anyway good to be here and looking forward to learning about Buck knives and hearing from other Nighthawk owners.

Sparky,
Good to have you here and welcome. Those are nice knives-I dont have a Rush, but I do have a couple of his big brothers, Tempests-edcing one right now. The Buck fever is upon you-might just as well start a regular medication regimen:D

Sparky, you're on the way to no turning back! I started about a year ago after only having a 450 Protege, old 110 and a gifted Buckmaster. Tried a couple new ones out and was happy with the knives and VERY happy with the service from Buck. Now have about one of each version currently made they are just so much easier to pick up a couple at a time then so many other brands that are 3-4 times the price.

now thats not much compared to most on here but still get treated by Buck the same if you have 1 or 1000. just a great company. and the knives are priced across the board so instead of having to save up $300+ to get the next one in a collection can cover it from $20-whatever and Buck treats each with the same wtty. and once you find one you really like (im kinda stuck on 112s right now) you can get the regular one, then an elk handle, then a different steel, then an ecolite etc...and its still that same solid design.

my wife was so happy with the way they treat customers our kitchen knives are now Buck.

Ive had way cheaper and way more expensive knives but none just looks and feels as good to me as that 119. that would be a great gift.

welcome and good to have ya here

Thanks for the reception all. :) Yes when it's all said and done I might have the whole Nighthawk collection myself. I just love this design, and is it me or does that small tanto version offer an amazing value for a heavy-duty tactical knife? Actually most all of the Buck knives seem to me to represent excellent values to a ridiculous degree. Trying not to be a fanboy here but they make it difficult.

Sparky, welcome to the Buck forum.... When you get your Nighthawk 655 post some pics here or on the SPS... We all like pics... ITE ...
