Hey everyone,
I got the profile k02 and promptly dished the hell out of my course stone on a ZDP189 Endura. I bought a new stone from edge pro and a couple of unmounted stones to swap out when the time comes. What is your preferred method of removing the worn out stones from the plates to replace them?

For EdgePro mounted stones heat the aluminum up with a propane torch and the stones come right off. Use just enough heat to get the job done and you won't remove any of the temper from the aluminum.

thanks, I called edge pro and asked them and that's one of the options they said, three other was 15 minutes in the oven at 300 or so. I heard somewhere that boiling water would work, but it sounds like that might not get hot enough.

Unless you dished it all the way to the aluminum... maybe flatten it and keep using it? EP stones are easy to flatten... and you can get a lot of use out of even a thin stone.

BTW... I've never needed heat to remove a stone... putty knife or something similar... should pop right off. But, you can pretty much use them 'till they're gone... especially the coarser stones.
