How do the Inlays stand up to EDC?

Hi, in a month or two i plan to purchase a Mnandi or a Small Classic with some type of wood inlay. I was just wondering how well the wood (on either the Mnandi & Small Classic) hold up? I plan to EDC the knife and wear/keep it cliped in my front right pocket. I usually keep my keys or wallet in that pocket also... Just wondering if the wood will scratch/ get messed up easily. Do these knives come with a leather slip pouch or do I have to buy one seperately? Thanks in advance,

-Jay

The "premium" wood inlays come with a slip-sheath,but you can buy the sheaths seperately from CRK too!
The wood inlays do not get scratched that easily,IMO...,but the Titanium will!

I agree..... the titanium..... and polished blade will show some scratches.

Thanks for the info guys! now i just have to make up my mind whether to get a Mnandi or a Small Classic...... hmmmm..... :D ;)
Thanks again,

They hold up well in my opinion. My mnandi is my daily work knife. No babying for this one after 2 years it still works and looks great.;)

I carry either my Blackwood Mnandi, or my jigged rosewood small classic everyday. Both still look excellent.:)

As nice as the wood Sebs are, wood can shrink or crack over time. If you are thinking of the small classic, consider ivory or even the newer micarta inlayed Sebenza. Tougher stuff to say the least. I have both(ivory and micarta), small classics and carry them all the time. No problems. The micarta can take a beating like you wouldn't believe.

I thought the stablisation process sorted out all the problems you might normaly get with wood. Personaly I think the wood inlays look much nicer

The stabilization process is very good but not absolutely perfect. I've heard of very few problems with the wood inlays. And if I remember correctly CRK replaced for free any inlays that developed problems. I have an ivory mnandi that i carry and beat up pretty good and its aged well. But for no nonsence every day stuff I would agree with Blackend and go with the Micarta inlay. I would be carrying the Micarta inlay now but I'm going through a "tanto" stage. The wood looks great but that Micarta has got to be darn near indestructable. One:p :p :p week to Vegas!  ;) :D

That IS a difficult decision; Mnandi or a small inlayed. Personally, the next CRK I am going to buy is a Mnandi! I have a large Sebbie.

What about the leather? How does it hold up?

I don't see much about the leather inlays. Not sure how popular they are?

Heres a pic of my EDC Bacote.
The wood is still in great shape even though the pocket time has polished the Ti.

thanks for the replies guys! I'm thinking that i may go with a small sebbie (probably african blackwood, ebony, snakewood, or micarta:confused: ). The ivory inlays look VERY nice but i think they are probably out of my price range.

I think mammoth-bark and mammoth-ivory are the most beautifull materials to accompany a CRK knife!!!
Pricey,yes....,but without a doubt they make the nicest handles/inlays!!!

Nice Seb you have there Dunc. Gold inlay and all. Makes the inlay extra special!
I too have to agree that I'm a sucker for the ivory's. It's a trade off for gentlemens carry between my classic and Mnandi when going on the town. Guess it depends how discreate I need to be.

I have never seen where anyone has ever had them come out,I don't belive you could make them come out with out a pry bar.If they did CRK would make it right.
