I got the budk catalog today(cause I bought from them like 3yrs ago).I like to flip through it & check out if they have any decent crap:D
I came across this & just got disgusted of the clear & blatant rip off of kershaw's rainbow leek.Ridge Runner should be ashamed of themselves:grumpy:

Not nearly as bad as the second. It does occur to me that many rainbow finished knives are going to be compared with Kershaw. Lets save our outrage for actual counterfeits.

...I'm thinkin' that for the sake of possible visits, by members of this fine forum's other family members, to the posts here...I'm gonna keep my mouth shut regarding shecky and his thoughts on "copies" and "counterfeits"...

Back when I was a kid my dad made little odds and ends out of steel to sell at art and craft shows to add to his meager salary just so he could make ends meet. Each design was drawn by hand by one of the family members, and he in turn transferred it to different forms (wall art, yard art, bird feeders, boot scrappers, etc). After two years of doing this he began noticing that more and more guys were coming to his booth just to take pictures. Next thing he knew he was facing on average two to three other dealers per show selling exact copies of his work for up to half of what he was able to afford. He just couldn't afford to compete. So he quit, and we made do with less. Even today more than fifteen years later I can browse "SouthWest Art" sites and see things that are exact copies of what he did. Some even use the sames names applied to the pieces.

I have no use for those that would copy someone's work. Those who support such companies/makers I have even less regard. That is as far as I will go on a public forum.

I see sanctimony still reigns supreme in these parts.

Even so, it's difficult to argue the Ridge Runner knife is much of a copy. The only significant feature it shares with a Rainbow Leek is the rainbow finish. Take that away, and it is a pretty generic modern-ish folder.

I didn't realize who they were at first.
Turns out it is PVKnife.com and Knifezilla.
Both of which I've heard mention of here and other places.
Didn't know they also dealt in crap.

I'll just steer clear of them.
I don't need any of their "Onion Folders"
Nor do I support that anywhere else.
