I love this forum and the community here, what a wonderful group of folks, and what a great way to keep our amazing hobby going. To me this really is one of the most authentic and positive little corners of the internet. But man, I know I'm not alone in being frustrated with the actual technical reliability/usability of the site. Rather than complain more here, which has been done plenty, let me pose a more constructive question. What can we as users do to support a major technical upgrade of the site? I'd be willing to pay a little more for my membership for an overall more reliable experience. How much more would it cost per user for a major overhaul of the hosting platform?

Yeah, I'm not sure what cloudflare is protecting the site from, since the actual webserver seems to have a hard time responding.

Took me 30 seconds just to pull up this thread, and I get the 522 error message dozens of times per day. I'm running on a gigabit fiber connection, so I can't imagine how frustrating this ongoing issue must be to those on slower connections. We've been complaining for months, yet it persists :(

I suspect only Spark can answer that one.

What about a fund drive? Maybe paid memberships aren't cutting the mustard money-wise (I have no idea). This could be a straight-up request for donations, with "unlocks" at various thresholds for site upgrades. Or maybe anyone who contributes at/above a certain level gets a perk -- a supporter banner, extra PM space, a sticker in the mail, whatever. Or a raffle-style thing with prize packages, like Knife Rights does.

It’s a Paleolithic site. When you rub the sticks together, the correct orientation of the wrists is imperative.

I am NOT going to give a cent..   This has been going on since Oct to some degree.. Got worse in Dec.. I renewed in Dec thinking things will get corrected quickly and dont feel I am getting what I paid for.. If you buy something that dont work.. You return it and get another or a refund..

But the group of folks here is so great, I'd hate to give that up. Where else do I get to try out so many knives from folks who aren't looking to gouge on secondary market prices?
