How do wooden scales fair with kydex?

Well I agree that it probably isn't the most aesthetic option, but I love kydex's practically. Plus you could always have more then one. But my question is, does it even work probably with wood? I know g10 scales can scuff easily but at least it doesn't sleep out or anything. My worry is that the high polish of the wood finish plus wet conditions could make it slippery.
