I have a dremal tool but once those sparks start I can't see what I'm doing so I don't think thats a good option.I would like some help from the beckerheads that have been through the trial and error of it:confused:

Make the initial cut with the dremel as a guide, then a small triangle or round file to fill it out

Your jimping looks great! I'm gonna have to do it. Your mods are all top notch man! Thanks for sharing...

Ah its not spaced evenly. One of the drawbacks of using a dremel without a vice. Thanks tho

I haven't tried it yet because honestly so much of the user jimping I see done is pretty uneven. It's clearly hard to get right.

I'm curious aswell. I have seen some -really- nice jimping jobs on this forum, but I can't exactly recall whom did them. I'd love to do just a little jimping on my Esky, nothing too extreme. I really need to invest in a Dremel, because it seems that's what alot of guys use. Not just for jimping, but just about everything.

Ive just used the dremel with a diamond cut off wheel.

I use a file simply for the greater control I have with it. The dremels just spin too fast unless you use a jig or something....too easy for it to walk all over the place.

checkering file like pimp biscuit said is probably the best if you're looking for that style... there are many ways, the cheapest is a v file and a tape measure.....

good luck and post results... :D

I used a dremel to make the line then used a carbide bit to round them out since thats what i like.

I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to make the initial cut, and then a small round file. The knife was fixed in a good table mounted vise. Very important.

This is what i did,

Vice + Dremel cut off wheel + round file (some sand paper also)

Thankyou :).

I found placing tape either side of my thumb when placed on the spine gave me a better visual of how much jimping i should do (in this case i went for x4)
