make that first chop into a log with a new FBM LE? My brain will be telling me to display it but my heart wants it at camp.

Go ahead, takes lots of pretty pictures of it while it's new, and shiny. Now feel free to beat the living hell out of it, if you want to look at how shiny and pretty it is you have pictures :)

Personally, users are the ones that stay in my collection. All other safe queens run the risk of getting sold to acquire more users.

The FBMLE is simply a awesome user. Nuff said!

I've never used mine! Not because I don't want to but with the FFBM around I just haven't been motivated. Slacker, I know.

Edit: Err, I've never chopped with mine, but it's seen some little use.

As Ban said, if you are sure you are going to keep it then use it! The only ones I don't use are the ones that are in my "might not keep" pile.

Also, satin finishes clean up nicely.

A knife in the safe in an investment/art/collectible. A knife in the field is FUN.

Swing away man... It's a great feeling and you will smile for a long time afterwards...

Drink a 12 pack of Bud. That oughta do it.

That's what I did.

Just make sure there's no concrete or rocks around. That's how I jacked up my BATACLE. And my HOGASH. (cosmetic damage only, of course)

I was once like you, and then finally got fed up with the internal conflict. I picked a knife that was mint (oh, and also 1 of 14, so it was rare ) and sent her on a little passaround to about 10 people. Those folks had no reservations about putting her to use at all.

The knife I picked was a knife that I was very drawn to, one that I was sure I wanted to keep forever regardless of what else may come along in the future. I still have her to this day and always will. And while I loved the knife to begin with, it may now be my favorite because there is a little bit of history with it PLUS I get to use her whenever I want.

Until you take that first swing, you won't know what you've been missing. After you take that first swing, you'll wonder what the heck took you so long to come around. It really can be therapy for the soul.

Don't do it. Bravado is already having trouble sleeping.

I personally find it much harder to not uses my Busses ..Most of the joy I get out of this product is when I use it...

After seeing all the great pics posted, I don't know how you can resist not running out in the yard right now and chop something, anything, with it. :D

I am a collector and I know when I buy a knife if it is to go the display case or if I am going to use it. Of course, there are some I have bought for the collection, but they just screamed to be used. So I had to buy another one if I really wanted one in the collection.
