How do you carry your axe?

My search skills are weak. Searched for "carry" and "axe" and didn't get anything helpful. Assuming the size of a GB SFA, what is your preferred carry method?

Some google search showed me Best Made's very pricey sling, KSF's belt carrier, or the belt loop that may come with a sheath. I'd appreciate any inputs (home-made ones are awesome too).

Edit: My search skills are indeed weak. Seems that the above mentioned methods are pretty much the only options. Please ignore my post. I apologize for wasting your time.

My favorite way to carry an axe: on a horse! :D Otherwise, strapped to my backpack.

i strap mine to my backpack as well. i have thought about trying the sling ideal, it look pretty interesting too. i think the sling would work nicely when someone was out and about just 'crusing' the woods for the day.

Axes get carried in hand or lashed to a pack with a custom head cover.

Hatchets go on the belt or occasionally over the shoulder.

During the winter I carry my 10" Wetterlings in my EDC bag (Kifaru Claymore or TG1.) I have also found it fits well in a military single flair pouch for use on a chest rig. I have a little figuring to do, but I'd like to make a shoulder harness for carrying it when I wear my anorak.

God bless,
Adam

I tuck my trail hawk(19") into my belt and it rides real nice. Did a 4 mile hike with it and no probs. Helps that I wear a wilderness tactical 3 stitch belt.
