How do you carry your CRK???

Ok so I know this is probably a pretty basic question but I'm curious. I've had a few CRK's now, including ones I've bought used from the exchange. Most recently, I got a Large Inkosi that came Wednesday and went right into my pocket. It's now Sunday and my knife has rub marks on the handles, snail trails, etc. I don't abuse my knives at all. It goes in my pocket with the key fob for my car and my cell phone (until I get to work at the office, then the other items come out. Occasionally I'll have some change in my pocket when paying with cash but it would only be for a few minutes.

I don't mind these marks at all.....it's a tool and it performs when I need it to. That's all that matters. I am curious though, how does everyone carry their knives? The ones I see on the Exchange are generally in near perfect condition with the exception of maybe a few small snail trails. I get it on the collector pieces but I'm talking about the plain Jane knives. How do you keep it looking so fresh? Again I don't mind these marks one bit.....I'm just curious!!!

I just throw it in the pocket. Ussually there is nothing in my pocket, loose change and keys add scuff marks if in the same pocket. I have a few users and few I never use or get slong ro. I assume like me those new ones are often the ones that hit the exchange. CRK offers free sharpening and refurbishing of the handles for plain models. They would make it look like new again when tou decide to send it in. I reccoment when it gets dull or you have several to send in.

You can keep your knife looking fresh by putting it in a leather crk pouch or simply having nothing metalic in the pocket you place your knife in.

I noticed several poeple send the knife to crk before reselling. Again Handle refurbishing is free on plain janes and micarta models.

I carry a small iwb at the 1o'clock position, especially with shorts on. Chances are it won't catch/snag on anything. To each their own. Carried my 07 plain small reg this weekend and really enjoyed it

I carry a Large 21 or 25 in my front right pocket, tip-up against the outside seam. I carry keys in the same pocket towards the front, but I use a TEC suspension clip to hold my keys up at the edge, and since I only carry a few, my car fob makes plenty of room between them and my knife. I pick up snail trails from catching the edges of the knife on the rivets of my jeans more often than anything, as they all have a few marks in the exact same places.

All great info. I don't mind the marks one bit, I just didn't know if people are generally more delicate in the way they carry or if they have methods that reduce marks. I don't utilize the pocket clip enough and I think that will help. Absolutely nothing wrong with some honest wear in my opinion though!

Large Seb in right rear pocket, tight against outside seam. Nothing else in that pocket. Tried right front pocket carry, but top of knife interferes with the bottom of that,...ummm...other deadly weapon also carried in that same area.

I've thought about carrying in my back pocket. My only concern is similar to yours......the other thing I carry IWB in the roughly 4:00 position.

I clip it to my pocket.

Just got one today, bronze spirograph UG. Already clipped to my pocket and will get snail trails by the end of tonight, I keep my keys in the same pocket.

I vary between different my CRK whether I use a clip or not. I will say that on my plain Janes that I have a hard time getting the (beautiful) snail trails to show in photos.

Thats why I normally kept my knives in my left front pocket. Not as good with CRK's in the "wrong" pocket. I just don't put much into my right front pocket if the knife is there.

I carry mine clipped on my pocket but everything still rubs and marks it up. If I'm carrying a small it's generally loose in my pocket.

I don't worry about marks.

The ones in the exchange either all seem to be from collectors, catch and releases FROM collectors, or have been to the spa for treatment prior to a sale. Frankly, I'm surprised CRK still does spa fro free knowing how many people tend to abuse/overuse the privilege.

I didn't care for my plain Jane 21; so I never carried it. When I carry my micarta 21, it's just clipped in my right front pocket.

My CRKs in Right front pocket on most daily wear. Sometimes the 21 plain in right cargo pocket in shorts. With that cargo pocket, thing seem to get banged around more. But, they get snail trials from use too. Say you cut something then put the knife down on your rock counter top. Actually, I kinda like the "patina" from use, if you will. No collecting here, just carrying and using. Sometimes I have a Small Inkosi clipped to my PJ pockets!

On a side note: I have yet to forget one and give them the Washer Ride, but that has happened with other knives & lights in the past. I can only imagine how they will look after that trip! lol I have trained my wife & kids to identify the sound of something heavy (and expensive) clanking around in the washer.

Being right-handed, I also carry mine clipped to the far right side of my right front pocket. It shares the pocket with a slim wallet, a Fisher Space Pen and an iPhone 5. And usually a folded up (unused) Kleenex or two. I don't worry about getting scratches on my knives; the phone has a padded screen cover and rides next to the knife so no worries about scratching it's screen, either.

The ones i don't want to scratch up get carried in a Benchmade nylon sheath, they can go horizontal or vertical on the belt.
Also have a plain large 21 & large Insingo that get no special treatment and get clipped in front right pocket...

Great thread! I've always carried a large clipped in my left front , since I got my first Seb, 15 years ago..even bought a Lefty . I know , a newbie...I never put anything else in that pocket. It's only there because as right handed, my .45 is a strong side carry, and gets in the way.... When I visit the Peoples Republic of California ( NO reciprocal CHL) then I do enjoy a right front carry....

Bottom of my pocket usually... ;)

My small plain jane Insingo gets babied in one of my front pockets along with loose change, car keys, and anything else that I stick in there. Not only do I not mind snail trails and other marks, but I actually welcome them. It's my way of customizing my CRK. I don't ever see myself sending it back to the spa, for free or otherwise. And I don't ever foresee wearing it out either, though I use it often.

A long time from now ( with a little luck, that is), I hope that this will go to one of my children or grandchildren after I pass. Since I won't be able to take it with me, maybe I'll pick up an Inkosi when I get to Willoughby.

In a pocket sheath. It acquires a worn look with few snail trails.
