How do you carry your EDC fixed blade?

Thought it would be fun to see how y'all carry your fixed blades. I've been carrying my EDC bowie strong side, edge forward. It's somewhat out of the norm, but for me it makes drawing a bowie with an 11 inch blade more feasible. I'll share some pics of mine and would love to see yours. So let's have some discussion on EDC carry. Not just big blades but smaller too...I'm sure I'm in the minority with my beast:eek: I would like to see some examples of scout carry, cross-draw, etc. along with how it works and why you prefer that type of carry.

My EDC Little Rok ain't quite that big, with a 4 1/2" blade.

I usually wear it in the leg tool pocket on my carpenter jeans or horizontally for a cross draw, edge down, on my weak side. I like the latter as it stays out of the way, but allows for drawing with either hand. Only problem is that gets in the way of my cell phone, and I can't wear my cell phone holder on my strong side because it blocks access to my pocket. So, most of the time it's in the tool pocket.

I carry a fixed blade on the belt, but I also spend a lot of time in a house coat and carry one in a kydex sheath clipped to the pocket of the housecoat and that knife is constantly being used for almost everything.

Back right or front right pocket.
My Fairly kwkn is the perfect size.
Daniel can post a pic.

I plan on doing a smaller EDC, maybe a 5 inch blade. I may have Dad do a kydex sheath with a tech-lock. Then I could play with the different carry options.

I'm exactly the same as you Ben funny enough.
I find cross draw gets in my way more often than not. I'm much faster strong side out and up.

That works. One advantage to that option is that it leaves the belt free strong side for a pistol:D. I usually carry my Glock in a shoulder holster so that leaves the belt free to hold the knife. Anybody have experience carrying horizontal strong side, handle back?

I tried to post some pictures, but apparently i cant upload or attach files. any help please?

I tried that carry position with a 9 inch bowie all last year(carried working in the bush and for hunting etc.) and I agree with you Ben, that it is much easier to draw with the edge forward rather that to the rear. Being in Canada, where carry of handguns is verbodden, I needn't worry about my knife supplanting my pistol's position on my strong side.:D

I do not use a belt stud in the waistband type sheath as I have had them jump out and fall on the ground......I prefer a belt loop. I tend to jump over logs and ditches and small streams a lot in the back country and a knife just slid behind the waistband or belt will "abandon ship" too often for my liking.

Great thread.

I carry my large chopper in a chest harness...on Adam ;) Then I walk behind him through the hole in the brush twirling my parasol. Fact.
As for smaller knives, a mini DesRosiers or the world's smallest Lurquin custom, side ride on a belt front and center.
