Hi, I'm a newbie to knives and I just recently purchased a Kershaw Ken Onion Scallion. I like this knife alot and I like to carry it to where ever I go. On the Scallion instruction sheet, it said to correctly carry the Scallion, you must clip it on your pocket. However, I like to carry the knife discreetly so I don't attract suspiscion and fear. So is there a way for me to carry my Scallion safely and discreetly?

I carry my Kit Carson M4 clipped in my waistband behind my right hip.
You might give that a shot. Is the Kershaw an assisted opener? If so, and it has a safety, you might want to use that as well.

I wear medical scrubs at work so my current EDC a Spyderco Paramilitary goes in the waistband, behind my waistpack.

Yeah, it is an assisted opener.

I'm not sure about the waist band thing, because on the instruction sheet, it said not to clip the knife to a belt. I know a belt is different than a waist band, but they both are located in the same area.

I have been carrying my scallion by clipping it to the "inner pocket" inside the right pocket found in many jeans. Is that a good idea?

the scallion is a great little knife its my work EDC. I simply removed the clip and carry it loose in my pocket. its accessible yet comfortable. :D

yeah, but I like ride my bicycle alot, and the roads I ride on are pretty bumpy, and I do not want my scallion to fall out of my pocket.

Clip it IN your pocket...the majority of the knife will be inside the pocket. This is really how the knife was intended to be carried and it works great. I have seen a few confused people who walk around with a folder clipped to the outside of thier pocket. I want to say something to them, but never do.

You can also carry a folder in your waitst band behind your belt.

The clips on those knives are sturdy, it shouldn't fall out of your pocket. Or you can get a belt sheath if you want more protection. Finally, you can get some para cord and hang it around your neck if you really wanna.

Just in case you haven't read the seminal recent underpant knife thread.

Clipped to the back of my speedo's between my butt cheeks :D

I remove the clip and keep it where it is supposed to be. In the knife box. I have had more .....close calls......due to .....attempting .....to use the clip on a pocket.
So far have not actually LOST a knife, but ....deep in da pocket....works best for me.
Got tired of hangin up on rings, watch, wherever. Seemed like wherever I clipped it ...other than SHIRT pocket.... I would discover it halfway out at inopportune times.

I can .....check....it regularly in the pocket without doing anything suspicious (except to perverted minds....heh)

:D ;)

I carry iwb except for my sebenza which is my primary edc and is carried in an inside the pocket knife holster. The holster keeps the knife oriented in a vertical position so I can get to it without any fumbling and the pocket clip doesn't show.

I carry my EDC deep pocket...not clip! I have a few EDCs and they all hace ~3" blades...my nice knives (Pearl William Henry) stays in the leather sheath to protect the knife from keys/coins.

I do not want anyone to see my knife, clip etc...Also, I find that I take my knife out at least 50 times/day to look at it and flip the blade. Deep pocket is easy access.

IWB and with the clip between the belt and pants for the Sypderco Persian (personal use) and standing up beside my wallet in RH back pocket for the (the one I lend out) medium size Beretta Airlite. Small SAK on key ring in RH pant pocket. Every now and then, I clip the Leek to the LH pocket too.

I work in a sorta knife-unfriendly environment, so I usually try to keep the clip out of sight. I keep my Delica clipped to my waistband behind my handcuff case.
