One of them is in my day pack, one is in the front pocket of the sheath for my RC-5 and one is in the door pocket of my truck...

I carry my fire starter stuffed with spark-lite tinder & with a Goinggear striker attached with 550 cord. I carry it in whatever bag/pack I'm using that day just thrown into a pocket somewhere or in my front pocket if I'm traveling lite.

out hunting or hiking i carry it on a paracord around my neck, other than that sits in my bag. i need to put together a kit for the truck and the cars.

Does the Going Gear Striker work with the ESEE stick? I like the idea of using that versus a knife.

I have some on lanyards for neck carry. One on each rc6 or rc5 kit. But usually, I just toss one in a pack pocket.

Tony,

Is that the Molle backing sheath from ESEE? Who "bent" the small piece of kydex for the firesteel?

Kirk

i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess it was Shotgunner11.

buuut that's just a guess.

would be nice if someone carried those as a standard option to add with a knife and/or firekit purchase.

that is the molle backing and pouch from esee. they really make the sheath one of the best i've ever used.

Like this in my mini-kit that jumps from bag to bag. Always keep it with me or in the car.

Maxpedition EDC Organizer. About $20.

More info on my mini-kit in this old thread...

Instead of having 10 kits lying around and always wondering if everything is there, I made this small core kit that I can take in my small pack when hunting, in my Get Home Bag in the car every day, or in another pack when on trips, etc. At least I know this little kit contains all these little essentials. Works pretty well.

There are other options than the Max EDC. Really something a little bigger would be ideal. I'd like to have room for a water filter straw/purification.
