How do you carry your folder?

I've tried most ways, from just loose in the pocket, to in a belt sheath, but for the last couple of years I have used this method. A small piece of elastic with the ends folded and stiched into the middle to form two loops, then a spring clip one side and the folder of choice held nice and tightly in the other loop. This I've found to be a good way to carry the folder in the pocket. It rides high away from coins etc. and you just pull on it to release it into the hand. What do you think? am I on to something here or do you have a better way?

That seems to be a good idea for knives without clips.
I like to wear trousers with the little coin- or watch-pochet sewn into the large front pocket, that`s the place for a small folder (usually a Camillus EDC).
The large folder is cliped into the back pocket.

The laws on carrying knives in the UK are to my mind too strict. They impose limits which I for one find almost impossible to adhere to. Take the SAK in the picture, this is illegal to carry unless I can prove its for work, or camping. Well I just carry it anyway.....What is this country turning into? A police state? I have a reasonable collection of pocket knives and I want to use and carry them, not leave them at home. To answer the question, the clip was not designed to hide the knife although I guess you could use it like that , to clip it to the inside of a jacket, it's just a convenient way to carry many types of folder, and I have quite a few. :-)

I wear my large Sebenza clipped in my wasteband just in front of my right hip. I carry a pocket watch so I don't like to carry a knife of any size in my right pocket and since I prefer one handed openers both watch and knife need to be on the same side.

I find that the knife rides well in this location and its more secure than clipping it in my front or back pocket. I like the lanyard on my knife but I feel it makes it too easy to snatch out of my pocket..however its perfect for allowing better access from the wasteband.

I was a devoted SAK fan for years but now I just can't do without a one handed opener/closer.

I carry my Crawford KFF in an Inside the Pocket Knife Holster from www.magills.com .

It keeps the knife in a vertical position and keeps the knife closed. When I carried the KFF with the clip, the knife opened up in my pocket once and poked a hole through my pant's pocket and then I cut my hand on it. I also avoid the problem of the clip damaging furniture, etc.

I carry very small knives usually in a WH clip case. For example the Russell 6 with the carbon fiber handle fits in the lancet case perfectly and the Russell "Gent's Lockback" with the stag handles fits in the smallest WH case.

My REKAT Sifu is cliped inside one front pocket of my jeans, while my REKAT Carnivour
Cub is cliped inside the other front pocket. I also carry a Leatherman Micra
in my key wallet...

hi jackknife,
i too am in the uk, and agree with you that our laws are silly in the extreme. i carried a bucklite in a black leather belt pouch for years, and wasn't shy about it, as i feel that i have no criminal intent, so shouldn't be harassed for having a useful tool.
now i have a spydercard in my wallet, and a CRKT crawford kasper large clipped to my belt or waistband. the kasper is a little larger than the blades i am used to carrying, and i have to remind myself that if i clip it to the outside of my trousers, it shows when my shirt rides up (unfortunately due to my ample belly.), and if i clip it to the inside of my trousers, IWB, in summer if i get hot, the blade can rust, something i have noticed AUS-6, blade material in the spydercard and the CKFF, does quite easily.
i like belt sheaths, but cannot find one for the CKFF yet, so the clip will have to do.
i did something like your clip setup with my SAK champ, i put a small karibiner on several split rings, like you get on keyrings, and suspended the knife from my belt, so it hung in my pocket, instead of sitting on the bottom of the pocket and wearing a hole in the lining. it works well for heavy knives like the champ.

cheers,
leon.

When carrying a knife like the one shown, I prefer a sheath. I have a wide variety from leather to nylon. RKBA!

Hi Leonc. Your karibiner carry method rings bells with me, I have more clips and things on me than I care to mention. I rattle when I walk :-) I used to be a shooter and had half a dozen pistols and some shotguns, and now they wont even let you walk around with a knife over 3" that locks. I can't see it getting better either, so what can we do? They make criminals of us all. I like you carry my knives as tools, not to harm anyone, but I guess others may not be so law-abiding so we must pay for their stupidity. Sounds like we both should design an under the belly-overhang carry method, we would make millions. :-)

My Camillus EDC is always clipped to my right front pocket. You can hardly tell it's there, and the clip is very secure...... unlike other knives I've purchased. If a pocket clip doesn't stay clipped, the knife goes in my "not quite ready for prime time" drawer.
