Just got a sage/tan RMD, and this knife is fantastic! it was an unexpected buy, but couldnt pass up on it, and went over my budget this month but worth every penny!

im about 99% sure this is a keeper, so now im looking for a sheath. i think i would like leather because it would compliment the tan canvas micarta grips. but i hear kydex is good too, but i dont have any experience with kydex.

just wondering whats everybodies preffered carry option? attached to belt vertically? horizontally? on your pack? strapped to your leg?

leather, kydex or a different material?

thanks in advance.

Flash I'm glad ya like it!, I use both Kydex and leather, Leather is nicer, the kydex system I use, is attached to molle back, exactly like ESEE and it is more secure on the carry, Jantz has a leather pouch style that fits the RMD perfectly, I think part# is KT111, I'll have to double check, and they are $15.

Started with a Spec Ops that belongs to my SRK then got a coyote colored Mashed Cat. Works perfect for me and matches the tan scales really nice.

thanks for letting go such a nice piece. and thanks for the suggestion, that jantz site has all sorts of goodies! wow. that leather sheath might just work, would only be losing $15 if it didnt hehe.

ive searched about the armorlleather, and chuddybear. so far i like the chuddybear, but i might have to wait til next month....

thanks for all the suggestions, keep'em coming if you can hehe. thanks.

I carry mine most often in a short Spec Ops Combat Master with the liner heat-molded for a better fit. It's not as nice as leather, but it was a steal and I prefer an accessory pouch and the slim-width profile (vs kydex).

I use some cord to wear it drop-leg secured to my belt and tight to my thigh, putting the handle right where I can most easily (safely, effortlessly) deploy and re-sheath the knife. Tight drop-leg is imho most comfortable for standing/sitting/driving/squatting/kneeling/laying/walking/running/climbing (i.e. any position), it's always on my person (unlike a pack), and it never catches on things (straps, brush/branches, ground/seats).

My favourite is my vertical leather belt sheath with emu inlay from Armoralleather.

It also fits pretty well into the smaller vesion fo Spec Ops "Combat Master" sheath (sorry about the quality of the picture)

I tote mine around in a Spec-ops Combat master it's not the fanciest but it gets the job done.

I have Dwayne @ Armoralleather making me a custom leather rig which can be worn vertically as ususal, but will also be able to be worn horizontally on the belt. I was going to have him do his standard "X-loop" for the horizontal carry, but then had some brainstorming time and now I'm having him do a wide horizontal belt loop split in half with snaps so that it could be attached without removing the belt instead. This idea came to me as I wanted to be able to attach it vertically in the handle down position to a backpack chest strap for hunting without having to try and remove the backpack's strap. I'm in his queue somewhere. Can't wait for it!!!

Stunning. That is one of the best looking sheaths I've ever seen.

I have a plain leather one I picked up second hand that is made by the same maker. The quality is outstanding.

I remember that black emu sheath, its one of my favorites as well. :D

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it.

Chuck at Chuddy Bear Leather has always been a pleasant dude to work with and the RMD sheath he made for me is killer:
