How do you carry your SAK?

I have been carrying my Explorer in my pocket for a couple of weeks and it's really dirty inside from lint mostly. Does Victorinox make some type of "pocket sheath"? How/where do you carry yours?

I made a custom "pocket sheath". It holds my maratac aaa, and my SAK Rambler.

victorinox does make a small little pocket sheath thing for 58mm SAK's, and possible larger ones. It's like this one...

swiss spirit in the sheath on the belt. if i'm carrying a regular SAK it just goes in the pocket.

Vic Explorer Plus, loose in my LF pocket every day along with keys, Sharpie, Fox 40 Micro whistle, coinage and a clipped folder. The folder changes from time to time, but the Explorer is always there.

I pocket carry my Soldier and have pocket carried up to the Champion in the past. Pocket lint is a fact of life. An oil like Miltec-1 doesn't pick up as much as the other ones. You might try a sack-up of the appropriate size though it will make an already thick knife seem thicker

Great thing about SAKs, just blast them with the hose. Blow them out with canned air, air hose, or your mouth. Drip dry. Whatever. Nothing rusts if you dry it a bit. Maybe chlorinated pool water or sea water will be problem, so be a little more dilligent after dunking you SAK in the ocean or a pool.

i carry my SAK's dropped on my front right pocket. hardly notice its there

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I guess like you said, lint is a part of life...

I carry yellow sportsman in my jeans coin pocket.. Also an orange alox classic in my wallet since its very2 thin.. No lint&dirt problem. A little blow is all its need.

a real pain havin' to pick out dirt build-up on the insides of folders.
till date, the only probable solution to control lint is to use pouches.
but if you want something lighter, try an ordinary micro plastic bag.
it's not going to look pretty, but it does offer functional protection
it keeps the folder not only free from dirt but moisture as well, better yet is that it's not as bulky as having a sheath or pouch.
and if your pockets aren't deep enough or is made from some silky material, try slipping over a rubber band or two on the "plastic bagged" folder to function as a friction grip in order for the folder to cling on to the inner pocket linings.

SAK Huntsman - RF pocket all the time. When it gets linty, just soak it in some soapy water for a bit, rinse it off well and dry it. No complaints.

If you get a large piece of lint under the blade so it won't close, pull out the enclosed toothpick and remove it. Ta Da!

Pipe cleaners work well for getting lint and such out from under the blades or tools.

I carry my Executive down in my RF pocket along with other stuff. The lube I've been using for it is White Lightning. The WL tends to make it a little easier to clean the crevices (though not 100% clean) because when it dries, it tends to clump up the dirt/lint in the moving parts. Then these clumps can chip off or be cleaned out w/the toothpick. It's best to apply it occasionally to the moving parts, wipe off the excess, and let it dry overnight. I also get a lot of fingernail dust in the channel where the nail file and scissors fold, and I use some kleenex and the tweezers to wipe that out. But it's never completely clean, and that's fine with me, it's just a fact of life for my SAKs. My Executive's black handle scales are pretty scarred up, as any SAK carried loose in the pocket will get after years of carry. The scratches and such give it personality. It's a tool that is used daily, so I never worry about anything beyond that.

I carry my alox Soldier (Wenger Metal 50 when travelling) loose in my right front pocket with my little space pen. I turn my pockets inside out during the laundry process so lint isn't really a problem. I clean all my knives with soap and water when I do the dishes then i just rinse and blow out the water. After I use just a tiny drop of Triflow.

Left pocket next to my keys. 15 years of this and the scales are scratched to heck and back, but it works just fine.

Take out the toothpick and tweezers and wash them alongside the rest of the flatwear (drying tray, not dishwasher). Never had a problem with corrosion even after some really flagerant abuse on my part (left out in the rain, unexpected seawater bath, etc.)

I put my SwissChamp in a cordura nylon sheath; it's thin enough not to add much bulk

I used to put my SAK in my pocket with my cell phone but ever since I got a nicer phone with a touch screen I've used a Sack Up so it doesn't scratch the phone. It works well, doesn't add a lot of extra bulk, and prevents the knife from sliding around in my pocket.

I carry mine on my keychain, it was my first knife that I got from my grandpa. I don't even know what its called but it goes everywhere I go.
