How do you carry your Sebenza?

I recently purchased a Large Classic and am toying with different carry options. I work in a casual (jeans) office so I'm not limited in my options in that way. I'm sure this has been discussed before but people come and go from the forums, new people buy Sebbies and lots of people simply change their carry method over time (I know I have a million times with other knives and tools). Anyway, how you carry it and maybe a little about your reasoning behind your carry method would be very helpful. So far I think I have considered them all... In the pocket without clip (front and back). In the pocket (front only) with clip. On the CRK belt sheath and on a neck lanyard. Obviously (i would think) my priorities are comfort, safety, ease of presentation and NOT losing it. :eek: :D

Gary Graley custom sheaths, the only way to go!

It's strange -- I carry most of my folders in the clipped to my RF pocket, but the Sebbie rides in a belt sheath -- and I'm not even sure why. I have a vague, impossible to explain sense that I'm less likely to lose it with the belt sheath. :confused:

I have never considered carrying a folder this thin in a sheath until I got this Sebie but now Im getting that same sense that I may be less likely to lose it in a sheath.

Dont you think it's unfair to say that an not post a pic or atleast a link? :)

Bulldog just contacted me to get the link to my web page and here is a photo of his recent vertical sheath for his small Sebenza, snaps into the sheath very securely, no worries of it falling out.

My web page is G2 web page

But right now I'm getting ready to head to England for two weeks and have also just shut down for the winter, I'll be taking up leather and thread come March. There are several others making very nice sheaths that could help you out asap;

Dave Abramson aka Lifter4Him, see his web page here;

Edited to add that Vess has some great looking sheaths readily available right now in the forsale section, see this Thread here

Congrats on the new knife by the way!

I carry mine in the front right pocket with the clip and the lanyard hanging out. Never worry about losing it. After seeing Gary's sheaths I am tempted now. Beautiful work.

Thanks! appreciate the compliment, Bulldog wanted his sheath to be smooth finished with no embossing, here is one I just finished up, last one for the year, a combo sheath that holds a small Sebenza with it's clip still on and along side is an ARC AAA LED light, all one piece of leather, wraps around the knife, light and then it folds backward to form the belt loop, keeping the arrangement nice and tidy.

and here's one that was made a short while ago, also using the ARC AAA light, the one above was requested to make the transition from the bottom of the Sebenza at a slant, as opposed to the way this one was made, inside of each of the light's holder is a small section of leather glued in place to prevent the light from passing on through;

love that leather

When I'm off work, it's clipped to my left front pocket. At night IWB carry. At work, my African Blackwood Mnandi clipped to my scrub top pocket. I just hate stuff hanging off my belt.

Right now I'm carrying a large Sebenza with the clip removed. It's hanging in my right pants pocket from a lanyard clipped to a belt loop with a mini carabiner.

When I’m in the fields, I carry my Large Regular Sebenza in the CRK belt sheath (in the horizontal position). It is very easy to loose a knife when you’re hiking so the sheath is essential.
During the week, at work or in the city, the Small Regular is simply clipped in my right front pocket.
;)

I don't think it's very likely that you will lose you Sebbie while it's cliped to your pocket. The sebenza's pocket clip is one of the most secure clips I've found yet. Just make sure you push the clip all the way down past the second bend. It's almost like the clip grabs twice.

I carry my Blackwood Mnandi and my Ivory Small Classic Sebenza in the Reeve leather pouches in my front pocket. It takes a little longer to "deploy" the knife that way, but it helps keep either knife vertical within the pocket. And feels so civilized.

I carry my Large Classic Sebenza in my teeth when I'm climbing the rigging, pillaging, firing the cannon, etc. :grumpy:
