How do you carry your Surefire?

I have a 9P and I purchased the nylon holster with velcro closure that I mainly use to store it and to protect it. I really do not carry it on my belt very much, but since it travels with me everywhere, the holster comes in quite handy.

With my M2 on its way though, I was wondering whether people carry the new M2/D2/D3 etc. with the pocket clip/in a holster/just in your pocket? Also for those who have a new Surefire with a pocket clip, do the lights fit in holsters with the clip still attached?

Thanks for any responses, Bucky

Jeans, shirt tucked in: M2 inside front pocket.

Jeans, shirt out: M2 in front pocket but using the clip.

In my opinion Surefire did away with one of there smarted accessories. The OLD tailcap lanyard ring, Z26, (the one with the little "pocket clip" on it). Using the old one, I carry 6P,6Z and M2 in front pocket of jeans of Docker type slacks. In jeans, only the tail cap sticks out. But in Dockers, carry is even better. Because of the angle of the pocket, the light can just "hangs" on the edge and no-one can even see your carrying it. And you can deploy it extremely fast.

But I went to order more Z26 rings, they changed the style - now they only have one loop to be used with a lanyard (M3 comes with this style.)

So, when I want to carry M2 with dockers, I attach an old Z26 lanyard ring. Sometimes I'll even remove the pocket clip.

I carry my Sure-Fire 9P in the left back pocket of my Levi jeans, between the outer- edge of the pocket, and the edge of my wallet. It fits well there.

And NO, it hasn't turned itself on accidently and burned my butt...(NOT YET, anyhow.

I've just started discovering the clip, and am finding that I like it more than I thought I would. When I'm not carrying my light in a fanny pack or a jacket pocket, I find myself always using the clip these days. My two favorite carries are:

1. Clipped to belt, with the body of the flashlight between the belt and the waistband of my pants.

2. My absolute fave, just clip the light to the belt, with the body of the flashlight hanging on the outside. This isn't a good choice for working and maneuvering, since the flashlight can catch on things, but otherwise is very comfortable and makes the flashlight available.

I carry my SureFire 12PM in a MagLite belt ring thing as SureFire don't make a holster for the 12PM...

I'll carry it in my inside pocket face downif I've got my coat on.

It's not the easiest flashlight to carry. I wish they'd bring out a body which has two sets of 2 DL123As in parallel (four in total)
